A hungry young man decided to go for a walk in the woods in search of mushrooms. The farther he went into the woods, the less light filtered through the trees, and the darker it became.

He saw some beautiful mushrooms and decided to taste one. It made him dizzy and giddy, and changed the dark forest into a bright kaleidoscope of colors. It was so wonderful! He loved it. But soon everything faded back to darkness and he continued on his journey. Read more…

Those who can throw the ball, play the game. Those who can’t, armchair quarterback.

Recently an Air Force general overturned the sexual assault conviction for a star fighter pilot because he had nagging doubts about the accuser’s credibility.  The Uniform Code of Military Justice UCMJ provides for such actions on the part of field officers in the chain of command. This was indeed the situation. So far no problem.

But some members of Congress and the Secretary of Defense are extremely unhappy with the general’s decision and logic because the decision conflicts with their personal presuppositions and political correctness. Consequently they’re calling for a change in military law. Some are actually calling for abolishing the entire UCMJ! Read more…
