The hand is quicker than the eye…

Imagine for a moment playing the shell game against a master.  You put down your $20 bill.

He places three shells on the table, upside down.  He slides a bean under one shell.  You mentally mark the shell. You focus your eyes on it intently and wait. Read more…

Counter-CutAtheists are on a mission to eradicate any semblance of Christianity from America’s public forums and places. The mission is doomed to failure: It failed miserably in spite of nearly a century of Communist repression in Russia. But that doesn’t stop atheists from trying.

Two such recent attempts follow.
Which brings up the question, “When is not a religion a religion?”
The legal answer:  “When atheism looks like a religion, talks like a religion, and acts like a religion.”

Counter-CutLaughter is good for the soul.  Our news would be hilarious if it weren’t so painfully true!

Incidents of social insanity have reached epidemic proportions to the point where it’s impossible to keep up with them.  They are literally consuming and destroying our society.  Some examples of our social insanity follow:

Those who can throw the ball, play the game. Those who can’t, armchair quarterback.

Recently an Air Force general overturned the sexual assault conviction for a star fighter pilot because he had nagging doubts about the accuser’s credibility.  The Uniform Code of Military Justice UCMJ provides for such actions on the part of field officers in the chain of command. This was indeed the situation. So far no problem.

But some members of Congress and the Secretary of Defense are extremely unhappy with the general’s decision and logic because the decision conflicts with their personal presuppositions and political correctness. Consequently they’re calling for a change in military law. Some are actually calling for abolishing the entire UCMJ! Read more…

Our airwaves are inundated with smut and obscenity. Hence the FCC is overwhelmed with complaints of on-air indecency.

Their solution to the problem? Dump approximately 1,000,000 complaints into the wastebasket, call the matter closed, and attack the root cause of the problem by relaxing the standards to reduce the number of future complaints eligible for filing. Problem solved. Mission accomplished. Brilliant! Simply brilliant! Read more…

Uncle Sam wants YOU – to receive a free handout. Never mind that our Federal government is spending hopelessly beyond its means. There are actually food-stamp recruiters whose primary function is to find and recruit more people to whom we can give money we don’t have!
