British Cabbies

February 28, 2013 Leave a comment

Counter-CutThe following joke is making the rounds of the internet via email:

A devout Arab Muslim entered a black cab in London. He curtly asked the cabbie to turn off the radio because as decreed by his religious teaching, he must not listen to music because in the time of the prophet there was no music, especially Western music which is the music of the infidel.

The cab driver politely switched off the radio, stopped the cab and opened the door. The Arab Muslim asked him, “What are you doing? “

The cabbie answered, “In the time of the prophet there were no taxis, so piss off and wait for a camel!”

The following incident, however, is no joke: It is an example of a real problem in a modern western secular society trying to coexist with a religion which teaches that infidels (non-Muslims) are inferior to Muslims and subject to Muslim rules and laws.

Muslim cab driver refused service to a British family carrying an unopened bottle of wine to dinner because alcohol consumption conflicts with Islamic teaching.  Fortunately British sensibility prevailed the the cab driver was quickly fired.

Echoes of the Garden

Just as physicists periodically find additional echoes of our Universe’s creation, from time to time we come across echoes of that idyllic state described in the Biblical  Garden of Eden. This video is just such an echo.

Be sure to see this video all the way to the end, as you watch a silverback gorilla family wander into a human’s garden. The humans are intrigued by (and quietly video) the gorillas exploring the garden and one of its human inhabitants. What a great image this is of how wonderful God’s unblemished Creation must have been in the Garden of Eden before man ruined it!

Origin of our Numerals

Counter-CutYou may have received an internet email purporting to describe a logical basis for the way our numbers are written.  It provides a compelling case demonstrating that our numerals are based on the number of angles in each numeral.  Sometimes the information is provided in an impressive PowerPoint presentation.

Nevertheless the information is incorrect, no matter how compelling it may seem and how well it’s presented.
See some of the articles below, demonstrating the evolution of our current numbers over hundreds of years through many different cultures:

The Law of Unintended Consequences

Counter-CutNancy Pelosi quipped as she campaigned for passage of Obamacare, “But we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of controversy”.  Well, they passed the law and now we’re finding out what’s in it.  Here are some late developments:

Obamacare is entitled the “Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act.”  It accomplishes neither objective.  These are the effects of Obamacare’s unintended consequences:

  • Smaller paychecks due to reduced working hours
  • Fewer jobs available due to lower hiring
  • Higher medical insurance cost, hence less disposable family income
  • Increased welfare rolls due to fewer jobs and lower pay
  • Larger government deficit due to increased welfare rolls
  • Continued economic depression because of unmanageable government deficit and overspending
  • Loss of freedom due to bureaucratic government intrusion on our personal lives.

The list above represents a national death spiral.  If you’re concerned about your future and your children’s future, sign on to repeal Obamacare before it destroys you.

Counter-CutUniversity of Missouri to Recognize Pagan, Wiccan holidays.

Don’t be so surprised, this is not news.  The University already honors Islamic, Shintoist, Buddhist, Jewish, and Christian holidays.  In fact, most Universities honor all kinds of religious holidays; some include pagan and wiccan as well.

The University of Missouri is not alone.  But it is an indication of how far and how quickly American society has fallen away from the truth, and how quickly we are descending into social and cultural insanity. Read more…

The Harbinger, A Review

February 16, 2013 1 comment

“The devil is in the details,” goes the saying.

The Harbinger, a book by Jonathan Cahn introduces and connects many details to paint a picture of Divine judgment on America Biblically foretold and actually in progress since 9-11.  Although on the surface the book’s case may appear sound, closer examination of the details proves otherwise.  The book The Harbinger:  Fact or Fiction by David James dissects The Harbinger chapter by chapter, event by event, point by point, and highlights many factual and logical errors in Jonathan Cahn’s book.  In reality, Jonathan Cahn’s harbingers are little more than misrepresentation or misinterpretation of Biblical and historical facts, carefully selected and tailored to suit the author’s premise.  The devil is indeed in the details, and that’s why all is not as it looks!  A more extensive review follows: Read more…
