Taxmageddon?

Counter-CutFor a long time I’ve been hearing that we are facing the largest tax increase in our history on Jan. 1, 2013, which will bring about an economic disaster of major proportions.  An internet email is circulating details of these tax hikes.  Links are included to allow the reader to follow up, verify accuracy, and validate sources.

I’m publishing the email message in its entirety because our mainstream media refuses to address the issue.  Study it.  Verify it.  Then vote common sense.  But for our children’s sake, please don’t ignore it!

Junk DNA

September 17, 2012 1 comment

The discovery of DNA revolutionized biology.  There was a recent spate of articles talking about the significance of “junk” DNA.  You might be interested in hearing about it.

According to some scientists only about 20% of our DNA contains meaningful genetic information; the rest is “junk.”[1]  We know “junk” DNA exists, but don’t exactly know why.  Therefore many argue that the existence of this “junk” DNA proves the validity of random evolutionary theory.  The argument goes something as follows[2]: Read more…

Beware False Teachings

The night I finished writing “Jewishness” I slept soundly.  Suddenly I awoke in the middle of the night and was compelled to write and share the following:

Son of man, beware the smooth words of the enemy clothed in the wisdom of man! Read more…

Jewishness

I saw an interesting article the other day.  It was entitled “Jews: A religious group, people or race?” and it postulated that

In another generation or two, it may be possible only to know whether one bears a “Jewish genome”

A quick internet search turned up at least a dozen firms purporting to perform “Jewish DNA tests.”  One advertised that “Newer DNA Tests Uncover Hidden Jewish Bloodlines” today.  Another promised to answer the question, “Were my ancestors of the Lost 10 Tribes of Israel?”  Yet another bragged, “Our Jewish comparative databases are the largest in the world, containing records for Ashkenazim and Sephardim, as well as Levites and Cohanim.”  … and on and on went the claims in the ads.

That started me thinking about a question I had pondered at length in the past with many Jewish friends – without a satisfactory answer.  Just what does it mean to be a Jew?[1]  Is it only a matter of genes, or is there more to the matter?  Read more…

The Punishment

September 17, 2012 2 comments

The scolding has been given, but there has been no change in behavior.  The time has come to administer punishment.  How many times has a parent said to his child as he is about to administer difficult punishment, “This hurts me more than it does you.”  Those who have been parents know truth in that statement.

We as parents want to give good gifts to our children, not painful punishment; but we administer punishment for the sake of our beloved child, because we know that if we don’t act now, the situation could get much worse and the child could experience even greater pain.  The child, of course, doesn’t understand or believe that administering punishment can be painful for the parent, but he is only a child…

It is exactly the same with our Heavenly Father.  He wants to give us good gifts, not painful punishment,  (Mat 7:11, Luk 11:13) and the book of Ezekiel provides a unique window into God’s heart in this regard. Read more…

Fiddling While the World Burns

September 17, 2012 1 comment

Counter-CutNero fiddled while Rome burned.  America appears to be fiddling while the world burns.  We just stand by, claiming

US President Barack Obama’s administration says there is still time for diplomacy and sanctions to make Tehran change course.

All the while Iran continues to create nuclear grade uranium and destroying evidence of its activities.

Can any sane person really think the Iranians will actually change course because of hot air from the West?  Have they ever demonstrated a willingness to do so?

All is not as it looks
