The Federal Debt

A picture is worth a thousand words.  There have been thousands of words spoken about America’s debt of late, but very few pictures presented.  So I thought you might be interested in some graphs. Read more…

Illegal HHS Waivers

September 8, 2012 Leave a comment

Counter-CutOn July 12th of this year, the Obama administration’s HHS issued waivers to bypass the work requirement part of the TANF [Temporary Assistance for Needy Families] law.  This action is in conflict with the requirements of the law, although some have argued that the law provides certain amount of leeway for the HHS to take such an action.

Upon review of the facts of the situation, the non-partisan GAO (U.S. Government Accountability Office) concluded that HHS is not authorized to issue such waivers without Congressional action.  Its report released Sept. 4 concluded: Read more…

Why is the Government Stockpiling Ammo?

hollow_point_bullets.jpgCounter-CutFor several months there have been rumors that the Federal Government is stockpiling hollow-point ammunition for domestic use.  Is this true?  If so, why is the government making these purchases?  Some have suggested these purchases may be in preparation for anticipated civil unrest.  Could it be so?

Here are some links: Read more…

Counter-CutIt used to be firms came the U.S. to do business here.  Now U.S. Firms are moving abroad because of tax burdens.  Higher corporate taxes espoused by the current administration will only accelerate the process.  Your vote matters.  See article.

Iranian Nukes?

August 25, 2012 Leave a comment

Counter-CutWe routinely hear news about Iran’s “peaceful” nuclear program.  Some say that the sanctions are working and one day Iran will stop its nuclear ambitions.  Those people may be deluding themselves, because now even the U.N.’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) – the very organization charged with enforcing Iran’s “peaceful” nuclear program – is crying foul. Constitutional Literacy

Counter-CutIn a previous essay I reviewed and recommended that everyone watch “Politics Easy as P.I.E.”  The fundamental truth demonstrated in that series of videos is that American prosperity is the direct result of the freedoms we have enjoyed as a society.  The equation is simple:  No freedom, no prosperity.

Our freedoms are guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.  But how solid are those guarantees?  They are only as solid as we the people – each generation – make it.  And unfortunately, those freedoms are easily lost, as evidenced by the recent ObamaCare fiasco.  Today those guarantees appear to be little more than the vague promise of a sunny day tomorrow by an unreliable weatherman.

Is that really the case?  To answer that question I recommend that everyone become familiar with the original intent of the Constitution and its current interpretation by viewing “Constitutional Literacy” with Michael Farris (Links provided at the end of this review). Read more…

Hostility Against Christians in U.S.?

August 24, 2012 Leave a comment

Counter-CutCould Christians be persecuted in the United States of America?  Perhaps.

In fact there is already pervasive, irrefutable religious hostility in U.S., according to a 140-page report released by the Family Research Council and Liberty Institute.  The report was released earlier this week and includes over 600 incidents covering a 10-year period.

Politics Easy as P.I.E.

Counter-CutThis is a review and an exhortation:  Please watch “Politics Easy as P.I.E.” by Bob McEwen

Each election cycle presents a critical decision point for America, and Bob McEwen masterfully distills the core decisions each generation faces – including ours.  This five part video series was actually created back in 2008, but the material is as true and pertinent today as it was then.

I urge every single voter to view and consider these fundamental, non-partisan truths before going into the voting booth because our children’s future depends on the choices we make today.    Read more…

Speaking the Truth

July 30, 2012 Leave a comment

You don’t have to agree with me.
You don’t have to like or love me.
All I ask is that you hear me out
And not shut the words up before they exit my mouth.

You always, always have the option to tune me out,
To ignore or walk away from me,
To argue with me,
To mock and ridicule me.

But here in America
You never had and never will have the right
To muzzle me, to silence me,
To kill me.

[This was written two years ago.
I wonder if the last stanza is still true today.]
