Counter-CutLaughter is good for the soul.  Our news would be hilarious if it weren’t so painfully true!

Incidents of social insanity have reached epidemic proportions to the point where it’s impossible to keep up with them.  They are literally consuming and destroying our society.  Some examples of our social insanity follow:

American Student Punished for Refusing to Recite Mexican Pledge of Allegiance

Whose citizens are we, anyway? Mexico or USA? Apparently Mexico…

The Gender Mess in Massachusetts

Massachusetts requires K-12 public schools to allow boys and girls to use the opposite sex’s locker rooms, bathrooms, and changing facilities as long as they claim to identify with that gender.  What were they thinking?

Is Scripture quoting sign that you’re nuts?

This is what happens when good becomes bad and bad becomes good. Hollywood predominantly displays Christian believers as insane.
But who is really the insane one?

Greenspan: Ignore The Economy, “Only The Stock Market Matters”

Unemployment apparently doesn’t matter.  Real inflation apparently doesn’t matter.  Our fiscal health apparently doesn’t matter.
Sounds like Greenspan has put the cart before the horse.
Does the stock market drive the economy, or is the stock market just a measure of the economy?

… and much more to come, for all is not as it looks!

The Cobra

ImageA cobra mesmerizes its prey before the deadly strike.
A boxer feigns a right thrust before the knockout left blow.
A politician pretends peace before declaring war.
A general deceives with a flank action before the victorious frontal assault.

In each case the victim never saw death coming.
He didn’t know his enemy and didn’t recognize the threat.
But catastrophe and death are avoidable. Read more…

Counter-CutIn a civilized society, there is no need for guns.  I believe that statement to be absolutely true.
Because in a civilized society, we would resolve all issues without violence.

I would even go a step further:  In a civilized society we do not need police, courts, judges, prisons, and so forth.
Because in a truly civilized society there would be no crime, since we would resolve all issues with civility.

Lastly, in a civilized society one would need no weapons of any kind (not even swords and knives), for there is no danger to person or property; thus no need for self-protection and protection of family and personal property.

But we don’t live in a civilized society.  Read more…

Counter-CutThe school shooting in Newtown CT is a tragedy.  One can never fully appreciate the pain of losing a loved one, especially a young child, until one experiences it.  And I pray that I will never have to go through it.

My heart bleeds for the parents, relatives, and friends of all the victims, and I pray that they experience the peace of the LORD beyond all understanding, and the strength of the LORD beyond all human strength as they process this tragedy.

We have already begun to see the hand wringing and hear the same old questions from news commentators, “Who would do such a thing?  What could have possibly possessed a young man to commit such a heinous crime?  Why?”  and so on, just as we’ve heard these same questions asked and left unanswered after every other tragedy.  But then, a short while later we’ll forget the whole matter and go about our lives as before – except for those directly affected, who may never fully reconcile to the event.

The secular media has no answer to the difficult questions they raise.  They hypothesize and pontificate, “He was angry.” Or “He had a bad childhood.” Or “It was drugs.”  Or offer up any one of a dozen stock non-answers, because there is no earthly rational answer for such irrational deeds.  They blindly grope around because they don’t recognize the truth, that the answer is spiritual. High School Pregnancy Pacts

November 3, 2012 Leave a comment

Counter-CutRemember the brouhaha about the High School Pregnancy pacts a few years ago? The rash of stories about high school girls who made pacts to get pregnant?

The stories made great headlines, but appear to have been falsely reported in at least one case.  Read more in “Real truth about Gloucester 18’s ‘Pregnancy Pact’”.

I know this is “old” news and perhaps not of much interest any more.  But I found it surprising and wanted to share it with you because the truth matters, and

All is not as it looks!
