Sin on the cross

When my wife painted this picture (she is an excellent artists and her works are usually quite beautiful), we were both repulsed by it.  I can’t say either of us ever grew to like this picture, but every time I see it, I think of  2C0rinthians 5:21:

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Then I imagine that Jesus must have looked even more repulsive and detestable than this to God the Father, and I am overcome with gratitude for the magnitude of His sacrifice for our sake.  So as we rejoice in our salvation this Resurrection Sunday, let us not forget the price and let us not forget to give thanks to Jesus Christ, our Savior.
