Infanticide by Any Other Name…

Two medical ethicists have published an article in Australia arguing that babies born alive as a result of a failed abortion should be killed because the baby is not a person.  The common term for this is “infanticide.”

The basis of their argument is a new definition of personhood based on social utility:  Any individual without social utility is not a person, and anyone who is not a person has no right to life.  This is just the first step down a slippery slope to all sorts of euthanasia and other evils:

  • Dependent children should not be considered persons and could be killed.
  • Old people on retirement should not be considered persons and could be killed.
  • Sick people unable to care for themselves should not be considered persons and could be killed.

There are many, many articles on this topic on the Internet.  Just search for “after birth abortion” or “post birth abortion.”  Here are two good links:

Hello exceptional blog! Does running a weblog similar to this take a great deal of work? I have very little knowledge of coding but I was hoping to start my own weblog soon. Anyway, if you have any suggestions or techniques for new weblog owners please share. I understand this is off topic but I just wanted to ask. Thanks a lot!

My recommendation for new weblog owners is to try WordPress. It’s easy to use and requires no knowledge of coding.
